‘The Shape’ is a musical project born in 2011 from an initiative of the singer, Francesco Lucchese, the drummer, Nicola Ciccarelli, and David Grandi, the guitarist.
After a summer spent confronting themselves musically, The Shape, find the fourth member, the bassist Andrea Scamperle, and started to see the world outside of the rehearsal room for a face-to-face with the public.
The musical affinity of the 4 members means that from the very first live shows good results are found, under which replaces the decision to expand their musical possibilities with the introduction of a new guitarist: Alessandro Bussola.
Music production then takes a different turn: the genre of the band evolves to darker and more visceral sound and a more solid musical identity is created. This identity is characterized by a strong contrast of light and shadow which fully satisfies the tastes of the band members.
The first songs arrive and with their atmospheres full of mystery they allow the band to participate in a practice session with Giorgio Canali (ex CCCP and C.S.I. and producer of Verdena, Le Luci Della Centrale Elettrica, Bugo).
Proud of the result, The Shape released their first EP, recorded at the “Bass Records Department”, in September 2012.
‘The Shape’ è un progetto musicale nato nel 2011 da un’iniziativa del cantante, Francesco Lucchese, del batterista, Nicola Ciccarelli, e di Davide Grandi, chitarrista.
Dopo un’estate trascorsa a confrontarsi musicalmente, i The Shape, trovano il quarto componente, il bassista Andrea Scamperle, e iniziano a tastare il mondo al di fuori della sala prove per un faccia a faccia con il pubblico. L’affinità musicale dei 4 fa si che sin dai primi live si riscontrino ottimi risultati, in forza dei quali subentra la decisione di ampliare le proprie possibilità musicali con l’introduzione di un nuovo chitarrista : Alessandro Bussola. La produzione musicale prende quindi una piega diversa: il genere della band si evolve verso sonorità più cupe e viscerali e si crea un’identità musicale più solida,caratterizzata da un forte contrasto di luci e ombre che soddisfa appieno i gusti dei componenti della band. Arrivano le prime canzoni che con le loro atmosfere pregne di mistero permettono alla band di partecipare a una sessione di prove con Giorgio Canali (ex CCCP e C.S.i. e produttore di Verdena, Le Luci Della Centrale Elettrica, Bugo) .Fieri del risultato ottenuto, nel Settembre 2012, i The Shape pubblicano il loro primo EP, registrato presso la “Bass Department Records”.
Nel 2013 vincono il contest “Suoni Universitari” organizzato dall’Università di Trento, come premio la band ha l’opportunità di aprire il concerto ai Selton. Successivamente apriranno anche i concerti di Ministri, The Mojomatics e Bastard Sons of Dioniso.
